With new reports today that the Government is looking to delay the NDIS, Labor is calling on Tony Abbott to immediately rule out any cuts or delays to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Before the election, Tony Abbott promised he would deliver the NDIS in full and on time.
As a sign of his commitment to the NDIS, Tony Abbott must today sign the New South Wales Bilateral Agreement showing where the NDIS will be rolled out and by when.
Reports yesterday suggested the Expenditure Review Committee had discussed a delay last week, whilst a second leak from Cabinet last night suggests the NDIS was discussed at Monday night’s Cabinet meeting.
Seemingly ready for weeks, the Abbott Government have refused to end the uncertainty for people with disability in New South Wales.
Mitch Fifield, Assistant Minister for Social Services, has repeatedly refused to rule out any cuts or delays, instead stating,
“I am not looking for ways to delay the NDIS.”

This is not an answer.
People with disability are not interested in weasel words. They want a firm guarantee that there will be no cut and no delay.
The only way to show people with disability there will be not cut and not delay is for Tony Abbott to sign the agreement with New South Wales.
Tony Abbott should give that commitment today.
