TONY ABBOTT AND SCOTT MORRISON GAG DEBATE ON PENSION CUTS

Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison have today gagged debate on their pension cuts in the House of Representatives.

This complete abuse of parliamentary process is a slap in the face to the 330,000 pensioners who will lose up to $8,200 each every year because of these cuts to pensions.

Scott Morrison wants to ram this legislation through after less than one day of debate.

In an attempt to avoid scrutiny on his attack on pensions and the details of his filthy deal with the Greens Party, Scott Morrison has also tried to push through amendments without notice.

This shows just how grubby this Government really is.

Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison are trying to avoid the wrath of pensioners by silencing debate.

In a further attempt to stifle debate and hide from pensioners, the Greens have joined forces with the Government again to end public debate on the impact of their dirty deal to cut the pension, shutting down a Senate Inquiry nearly two months before it was due to report.

These grubby parliamentary tactics pave the way for the Government and the Greens to push their legislation through the Parliament as early as next week.

Labor will keep fighting this legislation, and we will oppose these Liberal/Green tactics.

This is the second time in a week that the Greens and the Liberals have teamed up to cut the pension.

The Greens have sold out to the Government and together they have sold out pensioners.
