THE NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME MUST NOT FALL VICTIM TO THE ABBOTT GOVERNMENT’S CHAOS AND CONFUSION

August 22, 2015

Tony Abbott and Mitch Fifield are starting to crab walk away from the task of delivering the National Disability Insurance Scheme to the 460,000 people with disability, their carers and families.

The NDIS must not fall victim to this Government’s chaos and confusion.

Before the election, Tony Abbott promised to deliver the NDIS on time and in full.

Today Mitch Fifield finally came clean that he is not doing all that is needed to deliver the NDIS on time, as promised, saying:

“There could be unforeseen issues… that could affect the schedule.”

There is no reason to delay.

The recent National Disability Insurance Agency’s Quarterly Report shows the NDIS is delivering in trial sites on time and on budget.

New South Wales is ready to sign their bilateral agreement on the transition to full roll out.

People with disability have waited long enough.

Any cuts or delays to the full roll out of the NDIS would be another broken promise from Tony Abbott.
