SCOTT MORRISON MISLEADS ON PAID PARENTAL LEAVE

May 15, 2015

Scott Morrison continues to mislead Australians as he attempts to justify his cruel cuts to precious time mothers have with their newborn babies.

“The scheme that is currently in place that Labor and the Unions put together actually hasn’t increased the amount of time that parents are staying home with their children beyond 18 weeks, so the scheme actually isn’t delivering that outcome, that’s what the evaluation report found on this issue. …Obvious place to make a saving when the policy as speculated isn’t achieving the goal it was set up to achieve.”

SCOTT MORRISON – SKY PM AGENDA – 15 MAY 2015

The independent report Scott Morrison refers to found Labor’s paid parental leave scheme is delivering for Australian families.

The evaluation noted, “One of the key findings of the evaluation was that PPL had a clear effect of delaying mothers’ return to work up to about six months after the birth of their baby, and then slightly increasing their probability of returning to work before the baby’s first birthday”.

First Scott Morrison said new mothers are ‘double dipping’, then he said new mothers were ‘rorting’ the system and now he is distorting the facts. All to justify what is a cruel attempt to limit the time mothers have with their babies.
