MORRISON CONTINUES TO LIE ABOUT PENSIONS
May 05, 2015
Scott Morrison continues to lie about the Abbott Government’s changes to pensions.
Before the last election Tony Abbott made an ironclad promise of ‘no changes to pensions’.
Yet this morning on RN Breakfast Mr Morrison made the extraordinary claim, that:
“The promise related to no changes to pensions or superannuation in this term of Parliament and there’s been no proposal to change anything in this term of Parliament, that’s what the promise was…. And that promise has been kept and will be kept.”
SCOTT MORRISON, RN BREAKFAST, 5 MAY 2015
But the Abbott Government has already tried to pass legislation through the Parliament to cut pension indexation, increase the pension age to 70 and cut the deeming rate threshold.
Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison have already voted to make these changes to the pension law.
The Abbott Government has also already cut $1.3 billion from concessions that help pensioners with the cost of water and electricity bills and council rates.
Australian pensioners already know they can’t trust Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison to do the right thing by pensioners.
Now they know Scott Morrison can’t even lie straight in bed.
Mr Morrison has absolutely no credibility when it comes to pensions.
The Liberal Party wants to cut support for pensioners.
Only Labor can be trusted to stand up for Australian pensioners.
