St Martin of Tours Primary Opens New Classrooms

Federal Member for Jagajaga, Jenny Macklin MP today joined the St Martin of Tours Primary School community in Rosanna to officially open their innovative new library, classrooms and IT area delivered under the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution Program.

 St Martin of Tours Primary School received $3 million for the new facilities, as well as $200,000 in funding through the Federal Government’s National School Pride Program to undertake further refurbishment works.
 
150 jobs were supported during the construction phase.
 
Ms Macklin congratulated St Martin of Tours Primary School on their new facilities.
 
“Principal Trish Stewart, as well as staff and the entire school community have put an enormous amount of their energy into making this day a reality,”
 
“This is a really exciting moment for this school. You can tell they’re really looking forward to making the very most of this new facility,”
 
“These facilities open up a whole new world of possibilities for the entire school community, as well as their ability to make new connections with the local community around them,”
 
“Importantly, many jobs were supported during the construction phase of these facilities which kept many people in work during the global financial crisis.” Ms Macklin said.
