Local residents honoured at the Jagajaga Community Australia Day Awards

28 January 2010

Jenny has celebrated the inspiring efforts of local residents to support our community at her annual Jagajaga Community Australia Day Awards at the Eltham Community Centre.

Ms Macklin was joined by over fifty award recipients, their families, friends and colleagues to recognise their long standing service to the local community.

Ms Macklin hailed the strength and diversity of this year’s award recipients.

“All local residents honoured here today have worked tirelessly over the years to make our little piece of Australia the vibrant and close knit community we enjoy today”,

“Whether it be their dedication to services such as the Scouts, Neighbourhood Watch, the CFA, local charity or our school communities, each and every one of them has touched the lives of so many people for the better,”

“Australia Day is the perfect time to recognise their efforts, their belief in our local community and their deep compassion for others,”

“Australia is a great nation because we are made up of thousands of local vibrant communities,”

“Today we thank these heroes from our community for doing their part to make this nation great.” Ms Macklin said.

Recipients received a certificate on behalf of Jenny Macklin and a grateful local community.
