LABOR DEEPLY CONCERNED BY REPORTS OF NDIS ‘CRACKDOWN’
May 16, 2017
Labor is deeply concerned by reports in today’s The Australian of a ‘crackdown’ on families in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The Minister for Social Services, Christian Porter must explain what is going on.
People with disability, their families and carers deserve an explanation.
Nobody wants to see vulnerable families being made worse off - it's just not fair.
The NDIS is all about giving people with disability choice and control over their lives, it shouldn't be putting vulnerable families under stress.
We don’t want to see families put under strain as part of some plan to cut costs to the NDIS. It’s simply unacceptable.
People with disability, their families and carers have been waiting their whole lives for the NDIS, it’s important that we get it right.
The latest quarterly report shows that the NDIS is tracking within budget.
Labor will fight for people with disability and ensure Australians get the best possible NDIS.
