ABBOTT’S BUDGET CUTS ARE NOT A PLAN FOR GROWTH

November 18, 2014

As experts dig through the detail of Tony Abbott’s G20 plan for growth and job creation, it’s becoming clearer that this ‘plan’ is a sham based on the Government’s cruel and unfair Budget.

Tony Abbott’s contribution to boost global growth is made up of current Government policies including cuts to young jobseekers.

Tony Abbott even had the audacity to include his unfair and unaffordable paid parental leave scheme as part of a plan for global growth.

There's nothing in this so called plan that isn't already in Tony Abbott’s Budget of broken promises.

And most of them will never be implemented. This ‘plan’ is a complete sham.

The G20 conference was focused on growth – but what Tony Abbott wants to do is destroy our social safety net.

How does kicking young jobseekers off any income support for six months create growth and jobs for Australians?

How does giving $50,000 to wealthy women to have a baby create growth and jobs for Australians?

How does ripping billions of dollars out of the pockets of families, pensioners, carers and people with disability, support consumer confidence in the economy?

Tony Abbott’s cruel cuts are not a plan for economic growth and job creation for Australia.

Mr Abbott should stop whinging to world leaders about his failure to secure a mandate for his unfair Budget and start focusing on a plan for inclusive growth and job creation for all Australians.
