But Tony Abbott still has his savage cuts to family payments from last year's Budget in the Parliament.
These cuts will leave a single income family on $65,000 around $6,000 a year worse off.
Labor will not support Tony Abbott’s $5.5 billion in cuts to family payments.
This includes the plan to kick families off Family Tax Benefit Part B when their youngest child turns six.
Australian families don’t deserve to lose around 10 per cent of their income because of Tony Abbott’s unfair cuts to family payments. They know this Budget is all about saving Tony Abbott’s job - not about doing what’s right for the future of Australian families.
They know Tony Abbott’s ‘signature’ paid parental leave scheme was a cynical attempt to solve a political problem.
And they know Tony Abbott’s “families package” is just another political fix designed to prop up his languishing leadership.
Labor will not support these cuts to family payments that will leave families worse off.
