168 NEW COMPUTERS GO ONLINE AT OUR LADY OF MERCY COLLEGE

22 July 2010

168 new computers, provided through the Federal Labor Government’s $2.1 billion National Secondary School Computer Fund have now been delivered to Our Lady of Mercy College in Heidelberg.

The school has installed the computers following a successful application to the fund.

Ms Macklin visited Our Lady of Mercy College to see students taking full advantage of their new computers.

“This is fantastic news for the students and entire school community at Our Lady of Mercy,”

“With school curricula increasingly tied up in ICT and online learning tools these days, access to good computers is increasingly a standard for today’s students, not a luxury,”

“With 168 more computers up and running, that means easier and more efficient access for students, thus reducing pressure on the existing ICT infrastructure at the school,”

“And of course there are economic benefits as well; for those ICT professionals that are given the work to install and maintain the additional computers,”

“This is a really fantastic example of how we’re creating a world class education system and delivering a Digital Education Revolution.” Ms Macklin said.
